Are you an experienced, passionate and entrepreneurial project manager? As a Strategic Project Manager, you will have the ability to collaborate on and lead projects as an internal consultant. As a member of The Rockport Group’s cross-brand strategy team, you’ll help improve our operations, technology, and business processes. You’ll quickly learn the full breadth of our organization, influencing and working closely with business partners across the entire Supply Chain, including Sourcing, Logistics and Distribution, Account Services, Sales, Finance, and IT.


Responsibilities:


+ Drive select special/strategic projects and initiatives that represent top priorities for the leadership


+ Develop project plans and manage cross-functional projects in the areas of strategy and operations & coordinate internal resources for the flawless execution of projects


+ Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques and communicate findings in timely manner to the leadership


+ Ensure projects remain on time and on track to achieve critical milestones


+ Collaborate on governance execution including weekly and monthly topic development, planning, and reviews by leadership


+ Work closely with finance to ensure appropriate project ROI while staying on project budget


+ Help relevant stakeholders conclude in-depth business and operations analysis for various strategy, operations, and financial topics as required by projects


+ Help the relevant stakeholders identify areas for processes improvements and drive higher efficiency and quality of key activities & processes


+ Build relationships across business and functions for supporting the leadership team’s success


You are a fit for this role if you:


+ Consulting-minded person with experience, interest, and aptitude in strategy and operations


+ Prior operations direct project experience in distribution center, freight, and/or logistics


+ Highly organized and very detail oriented; able to drive momentum across multiple complex workstreams


+ A creative problem solver, with the ability to find alternative approaches to address roadblocks and conflicts


+ Strong ability to interpret information and operational concepts and apply them to business analysis


+ Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with experience solving complex problems and communicating findings


+ Executive presence and comfort interacting with senior leaders


+ Ability to operate in an ambiguous environment


+ Desire to learn and grow, particularly within the strategy and/or operations functions


+ Comfortable with projects that require technical changes, working collaboratively with IT to communicate business’ needs and requirements


+ Strong working knowledge of Excel & PowerPoint


+ Working knowledge of BI tools (e.g., Tableau, DOMO) a plus
