Under the supervision of the Manager, the Medical Management Per Diem Staffing Pool Supervisor oversees all aspects related to hiring, training,and scheduling a team of clinical and non-clinical associates.. The Supervisor is responsible for organization, documentation, implementation and monitoring of associate schedules. The Supervisor should be knowledgeable in Per Diem staffing guidelines as well as all relevant HR Guidelines and policies and procedures. The Supervisor will be required to have a high level knowledge of processes for departments within Medical Management. The Supervisor will perform duties as needed in order to ensure effective/efficient operation of the program and will work under the direction of the Manager on the following:

  • Work collaboratively with Managers/ Directors of relevant departments to determine staffing deficits on a monthly basis.

  • Assess Business needs corporate-wide and schedule Per Diem Associates accordingly, maintaining required business guidelines

  • Work collaboratively with HR and have working knowledge of limitations and guidelines of Per Diem Staffing.

  • Serve as a link between subordinates and upper management

  • Function as a member of the interview team in assessing potential employees and assure that qualifications are met

  • Provide oversight of the hiring/onboarding process

  • Responsible for accurate record-keeping of all components of staffing pool

  • Perform as staff preceptor when necessary

  • Ongoing assessment of process and develop/implement process improvements

  • Collaborate with the Clinical Auditing Team/Clinical Training team to assure associates meet all required business standards (Quality Reviews/Inter Reliability Processes)

  • Coach staff in performance achievement results

  • Undertake disciplinary action as warranted

  • Performs other related duties and projects as assigned

  • Comply with Amerihealth Caritas Family of Companies and HIPAA standards.


  • Associates Degree Preferred.

  • Bachelors Degree.

  • Excellent Communication: oral and written / Listening Skills.

  • Unrestricted RN License.

  • Demonstrated ability to work ideas up and down layers of leadership at local and corporate levels.

  • 1-3 years Managed Care Experience, Relevant Clinical Experience, Familiarity with development of staff schedules and assignments.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), Sharepoint, JIVA, CERME.
