As a part of the surgery team, under the supervision of a charge RN or Nurse Manager, assists in providing optimal preparation and care of the surgical patient in accordance with patient needs, physician orders, CTRH policy and standards of patient care.
+ Completion of surgical technologist training OR three (3) years of surgical technician experience, including successful completion of introductory requirements and competencies required.
+ Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) / Cardiopulmonary Resusitation (CPR) for Healthcare Providers certification required.
+ Surgical Technician certification requried and maintained or has worked continuosly as a scrub tech since 1/1/2018.
+ If not certified, must successfully complete not less than 15 hours annually of continuing education concerning the practice of surgical technology and must maintain record in Human Resources (NRS 449).
+ Knowledge of all endoscopic procedures, equipment, and supplies including more complex, high risk, low volume procedures such as ERCP, EUS, and wall-stent placement.
+ In additiona to cleaning and high level disinfection/sterilization, monitors sterilizers and disinfecting solutions and maintain accurate records.
