SUMMARY

The Technical Account Manager reports to the Product and Business Development Manager. The Technical Account Manager is responsible for the implementation and execution of development initiatives and projects as instructed by the President and PBDM, thus working to uphold the future direction of the company. The Technical Account Manager will work in conjunction with the Development Team for all activities related to inside and outside sales and customer support for SoundTech?s existing customer base, professionally representing the organization at all times. The Technical Account Manager will also provide core business development support, working closely with the Engineering Team, as well as within the Development Team to develop samples and launch new products to completion.

DUTIES | RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the PBDM in managing customer accounts as assigned. Works alongside the PBDM to communicate progress, proactively seek out information to complete the process, provide updates on expected ship dates, etc.
    • Maintain regular communication with customer regarding project scope and deliverables.
    • Collect, collate, and present pertinent information to quote teams, PBDM, and President.
    • Coordinate project team?s deliverable schedules relative to project timelines.
    • Provide regular customer updates to PBDM and President regarding customer concerns, needs, and opportunities.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day correspondence with customers to present samples, product availability, project launch timing, gathering data and presenting an analysis of the pros and cons of multiple solutions, etc.
  • Participate in the quoting process by gathering information regarding customer/supplier specifications and/or technical drawings, providing a pre-quote project summary containing all other pertinent information necessary to complete the customer quote,
  • Once completed through SoundTech?s internal process, and approved by Senior Leadership, sends approved quotes back to the customer. Prepare information for the formal customer quote.
  • Develops, maintains and advances customer support initiatives, engaging in daily correspondence regarding follow-up, project updates, and other customer requests as needed.
  • Calls on potential customers, presenting SoundTech?s products and capabilities.
  • Participate in the preparation and delivery of technical presentations and reports that explain products and/or services to both current and prospective customers.
  • Collaborates with SoundTech?s Engineering and Development Teams and other key personnel to understand customer requirements, coordinate and modify product configurations to meet customer needs, and promote the sale of all company products.
  • Provides extensive technical expertise and support for our products and gains a deep understanding of customer applications and uses in various industries.
  • Participate in both the development of new products and processes and assists in existing process and capability improvement.
  • Participate in the Engineering Request Process including generation of drawings, programs, documentation, and quality verification.
  • Assists with development of prototypes, working designs, and product builds as directed.
  • Assists with new product launch activities, acting as a liaison between the customer and the Development / Engineering Teams.
  • Assist and support setup of new parts by drawing or verifying AutoCAD files. Coordinate and maintain CAD drawings and documentation used throughout the product design and bidding process. Update working drawings, complete red-line documentation, and communicate changes with the customer design teams.
  • Researches and identifies business opportunities for products and services.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of current supplier processes and capabilities. Coordinate with the supply chain department/team on new product initiatives.
  • Works at the direction of the President and PBDM to advance sales initiatives, participate in the quoting process by gathering customer/supplier specifications and/or technical drawings, providing a pre-quote project summary containing all other pertinent information necessary to complete the customer quote, and conducting market research.
  • Create a positive culture at SoundTech. Promote our core values and position the company in a positive view in all public and private interactions. Contributes to the one team environment.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner. Obtains and maintains proper licenses and certifications to run machinery.
  • Contributes to plant wide safety at all times, working within and holding others to the safety standards set forth by SoundTech and MIOSHA.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
