Transport Services Technician - PT - York Hospital - Day/Evening Tracking Code 43499 Job Description General Summary:Under direct supervision, performs a variety of duties relative to transportation of patients and cleaning, performing preventive maintenance, storing and/or sterilizing medical equipment. Follows established safety guidelines and uses appropriate devices when transporting patients. Provides messenger services on request. Duties and Responsibilities:The following are essential job accountabilities: 1 Transports patients to and from clinical, ancillary and support department areas as directed. 2 Assists clinical personnel in transferring patients to or from beds, chairs, wheelchairs or stretchers using appropriate body mechanics to perform patient lifts. 3 Cleans, distributes and/or delivers equipment to CSR for sterilization on an as needed basis; does minor trouble shooting and preventive maintenance of equipment when necessary. 4 Checks equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular basis. 5 Obtains and returns required equipment. 6 Sets up and removes equipment and supplies; ensures equipment is functioning properly and stored appropriately. 7 Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment. 8 Maintains appropriate records, reports, and files as required.Department Description: The Patient Transport Services Department at WellSpan York Hospital is responsible for moving patients to and from various units and clinical areas throughout the hospital campus. We receive an average of 500 - 600 calls per day. Our team of courteous and caring individuals help contribute to a positive experience by providing excellent customer service to our patients.
