Job Description

At Applied Materials UX Designers participate in both sides of user experience design – shaping the user experience objectives through research and documentation, as well as visual interaction design through screen layout and graphic design.

**Key Responsibilities**

+ Creates user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and design mockups as needed to effectively conceptualize and communicate detailed interaction behaviors

+ Helps refine the interaction architecture, user interface, GUI features, and end-to-end end user experience for new feature functionality

+ Participates in product UX Design reviews and provides critique and feedback

+ Assesses and optimizes the effectiveness of new and existing product features by actively participating in usability testing and user research and interpreting analytical data

+ Collaborates with Software Engineers and PMs to translate product requirements into use cases and pixel-perfect screen designs in a collaborative environment

+ Participates in daily Agile scrums to iterate in design sprints to meet time, budget and quality goals set by UX Design managers

+ Report to the UX Project Manager for scheduling, Agile management resource allocation and project planning of UX resources

+ Report to the UX Design Manager for visual and usability quality, excellence in user experience solutions, and adherence to UI design standards

+ Collaborate with and take software functionality guidance from UX Tech Leads in translating requirements into use cases for GUI and user experience solutions

+ Interface with software development version control systems and graphic library archiving in a responsible manner - to maintain centralized source code and design assets


+ Possess the ability to work effectively in a team setting including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design implications

+ Have passion for collaborating and communicating closely with teams and other stakeholders via a distributed model, to regularly deliver design solutions for approval
