The purpose of this description is to perform various assignments in the capacity of a volunteer for Collier County Government to provide services in general, to the community at large. Each particular assignment will require different skill sets, hours and locations. Some of the following duties may be assigned depending on volunteer assignment. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Assists with various office functions. Copies, scans, and distributes documents as appropriate. Organizes, files and/or mails forms. Folds flyers. Operates a copier and other general office equipment as necessary. Assists with light gardening and loading program materials. Assists with special projects and events.
Drug Screening, Fingerprinting and/or other background checks may be required based on assignment. Prior to operating a County vehicle, a volunteer must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license and undergo a DMV check. Other qualifications/certifications may be required depending on assignment. Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some bending, sitting, walking, stooping, crouching, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station. Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds, texture, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Volunteers will be working both indoors and outdoors, alone and with others. Potential exposure to insect bites while working outside are possible.
