General Information & Responsibilities
The Federal Work Study Program provides jobs for students at Black Hawk College demonstrating financial need. Eligible students typically work between 6 - 15 hours per week.
In order to qualify for the Federal Work Study Program, you must:
* Receive Financial Aid
* Be approved for Work Study by Financial Aid and Human Resources
* Current BHC student enrolled in 6 or more credit hours per semester
* Cumulative 2.0 GPA (per the Academic Progress Policy www.bhc.edu/academic-progress)
BHC students who don't meet the above eligibility requirements, may be eligible for non-Work Study positions. These positions are subject to budget limitations/availability of funds and are not always available.
Description of Duties
BHC Quad Cities Campus seeks a Work Study for the TLC area. Duties include:
+ Assist with daily tasks/responsibilities including updating the TLC’s website
+ Assist with data entry
+ Assist with event planning
+ General office work
+ Assist faculty with course content
+ Roll courses over in ICE each semester
+ Help maintain & update tutorials in Canvas
+ Assist with the check-out and check-in process of equipment
+ Update laptops and install software
+ Communicating with faculty and staff in person and electronically
+ Provide coverage for Center hours (only one full-time staff member in T/LC).
Tasks flexible based on student skills and expertise.
Education & Experience
All majors welcome to apply.
* Current BHC student
* Customer Service/Ability to work with the public
Other qualifications include:
+ Good interpersonal skills
+ Basic computer knowledge
+ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
+ Good electronic communication skills
+ Quick learner/ability to be trained

Work Study/Student Worker Employees are paid current IL minimum wage
($10.00 per hour as of 7/1/2020. Increasing to $11.00 per hour on 1/1/2021.)
